The Toolbox(TM): Leadership Skills for Young People
A course developed by Katherine Primus.

Japan"The future is ours to win. But to get there, we can't just stand still.”
          – President Obama, State of the Union 2011

Help young people win their futures and not just stand still! Help them learn how to research, reason, analyze and commit. Intentionally teach the tools they need as opposed to wishfully hoping they learn how by osmosis.

All of these tools are taught using cultural and timely references with lots of discussion and interaction between the participants and me. The sessions are Christian based. Participants will be given different worksheets and exercises to consider and complete during the teaching as well as into the future.

THE SIX TOOLS ARE:
1. Personal Message - understand who you are and what you believe.
2. Transitions - create/find peace in life's inevitable transitions.
3. Discernment - apply discernment and free will in your life.
4. Positioning Algorithm - clearly articulate where you are so you can figure out where you want to go.
5. Action Plans - determine what you should do today to get to the future you want tomorrow.
6. Professionalism - develop a healthy respect for yourself and for others.

JapanSUNDAY SCHOOL
The Toolbox will be taught in weekly sessions during the young adult Sunday school hour beginning on September 25, 2011 at 10:00 am. Each session includes prayer, teaching, and assignments. Introductory sessions include relationship building, what life can I build, translating ethics and values into action and appreciating the Toolbox. Five to seven sessions focus on each individual tool beginning with
Personal Message. Sessions open to any interested young adults.
