Deacons Ministry – The Deacons provide a ministry of support, caring, and assistance to members of the congregation and the surrounding community. Aid is provided in response to needs for food, rides to medical appointments, visits to the homebound and lonely, and other needs. The Children’s Home in Mt. Holly receives assistance from the church. The Deacons organize food drives, Christmas giving for needy children, and other opportunities to meet the needs of the community. |
Two-Cents-A-Meal – Members of the congregation set aside two cents at each meal to help feed the hungry of the community and the world. A Two-Cents-A-Meal collection is taken on the third Sunday of each month when each family brings in the coins collected during the month. This collection goes to the Presbyterian program to help feed the hungry, with some of the funds staying in the community as part of the Deacon’s ministry. |

Bible Study – The mid-week Bible Study meets on the second and last Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM, at members’ homes on the second Wednesday and at the Church library on the last Wednesday. The group selects a book of the Bible to study, alternating between the Old and New Testaments. The leadership of the study rotates among the group. Membership expands and changes as individual schedules permit. All are invited. |
| Habitat for Humanity – The mission outreach includes regular participation with other Presbyterian churches in the area in Habitat for Humanity build days. Men and women in the congregation spend a day working on building a home for a family in the South Jersey area, as organized by Habitat for Humanity. |
| Sunday Adult Bible Study – Adults meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM for Bible study. |
|
| Music Ministry – Led by our talented and resourceful music director, Toni Burdey, the adult choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary and sings at the Sunday morning 11:00 AM worship service. The adult choir also performs special music throughout the year, at Advent and Lenten services, and at community worship services. Special music also is included, with the performance of talented members of the congregation participating in choral and instrumental pieces. |

Prayer Shawl Ministry – Care and the love of knitting and crocheting are combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knit into every shawl. The knitter or crocheter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual blessing before being sent along its way. This ministry is a service to bring comfort, a feeling of security, and the knowledge that the recipient is surrounded by the love of this community of faith. The group meets on the third Saturday of the month at 10:30 AM in the library. |
Our Prayer shawl Ministry celebrated its first anniversary in May. At its first meeting on May 6, 2006, there were 16 women in attendance. We were so encouraged by the interest in this ministry that we immediately began dusting off our knitting and crocheting tools. Since that first meeting we have given away 78 prayer shawls, not only to our congregation, but to friends in need of comfort in FL, Maryland, New York, and New Orleans.
Less you think prayer shawls are given just during times of stress, we also give shawls to celebrate joyous occasions such as a wedding or graduation.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the third Sat. of each month from 10:30 - 12:00 P.M. We would welcome anyone to join us. You need not have expert skills in knitting or crocheting. We will be glad to help you get started.

| Mission Ministry – CPC maintains church-to-church relationships with sister churches in Belarus and in Cuba. Visits to and from members of each congregation help to maintain these relationships of mutual support and prayer. The Mission Team also is involved with outreach activities in the community and through the Presbyterian Church (USA). Some of the activities include a Stone Soup event to raise awareness of the plight of the people of Darfur, sending books to schools in Zimbabwe, and sending mission teams to the Gulf Coast to help with rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina. |
|
| Fellowship Ministry – Parish life activities are held to provide opportunities for fellowship among families and individuals within the congregation. Events have included progressive dinners, covered-dish meals with a movie, game nights, miniature golf outings, and special Advent events. |
